Database-driven dynamic web sites, programmed in ASP 3.0
- Canadian Greenhouse Conference (existing site, redesigned)

- The Canadian Greenhouse Conference executive administrators approached Five Ace Designs.com on a referral. They needed someone local to the Niagara Region to maintain their existing web site. The site was built using perl scripting and text-files for information capturing. We recommended a complete overhaul using an Access® database and ASP scripting. The web site evolved into a 190 megabyte enterprise management system in which conference exhibitors can register, pay their fees, book display booths, and more. Attendees can register and book their spot in pre-conference greenhouse tours. The executive administrators can control booth spaces, manage exhibitor bookings, print exhibitor and attendee name badges, control the bus tour bookings, and much more, all over the internet using a back-end administration control panel. Completely redesigned again for 2007.
- B.W. Guild Equipment Inc.

- Originally built as a static web site in early 2002, we quickly came to the realization that maintaining the site was labour intensive and costly. By January 2003 it was redesigned and reconstructed as a dynamic, database-driven ASP application. Now database maintenance is simple and can be done by the business owner, whenever he buys or sells his industrial machinery. Redesigned in 2007.
- S.D. Cohen Machinery Ltd.

Based on the success of B.W. Guild Equipment Inc.'s web site, Five Ace Designs.com built a second web site with the same database structure, similar functionality, and a completely different look, for S. D. Cohen Machinery Ltd. The web site enables the sales department to refer customers quickly to a photograph and detailed write-up about any machinery on the warehouse floor.
- Equipment Clearing House Inc.

Equipment Clearing House Inc. is the third of three successful database-driven used industrial machinery dealers' web sites designed by Five Ace Designs.com. A structured database that allows for drill-down from broad categories to machine-specific searching is central to the design of this site.
- Graham Machine Sales (existing site, redesigned)

Graham Machine Sales Inc. of Hamilton, Ontario were interested in updating their older Web Site. One email to Five Ace Designs set the wheels in motion. The new site uses a Microsoft Access database and ASP scripting to maintain and display the used machinery information. As a leader in industrial band saws, blades and acessories, Graham needed a modern and functional Web Site.
- STF Construction Ltd.

-

STF Construction, a general contracting company in Hamilton, Ontario, was referred to Five Ace Designs by a satisfied client. A few short weeks later, their Web Site was live and interactive. STF can maintain the information on "current tenders" from the comfort of their office, or anywhere they find a connection to the Web, in real time.
- Paramount Photgraphy

- Unhappy with their original hosting company, and in need of a more professional looking design, Paramount Photography appraoched Five Ace Designs for a complete rework. Special features of this site include Flash animation displays of the photographs, and an ASP scripted approach to reading files in a directory, allowing users to enter a gallery name, provided by Paramount, and thus displaying photo proofs within hours of the photo shoot.
- Floval Equipment Ltd. (existing site, redesigned)

- Floval, like so many other companies, has had an Internet presence for many years. And like many companies that had web sites built during the early to mid 1990's, Floval's was in need of modernizing. Five Ace Designs.com got rid of the constantly rotating lettering (popular in mid 1990's), the mixed textured backgrounds, the incompatible colours, and the scattered navigation links, and replaced them with an organized, attractive, and modern-looking web site.
Database-driven dynamic web sites, programmed in PHP 5.0
- Grimsby Curling Club (existing site, redesigned)

Completely redeveloped in time for the beginning of the 2006/2007 season, this site makes use of PHP scripting and a MySQL database. In this second redesign, Five Ace Designs paid close attention to XHTML and CSS standards, ensuring that this site would be the best it could be for a long time to come.
- Beamsville Minor Baseball

-

This is the third, and by far the most organized, web standards compliant version of the site for Beamsville Minor Baseball. The first version was the very first web site ever produced by Andrew Guild, long before Five Ace Designs.com came about. This site features events listings, on-line registrations, playing schedules, championships, and an on-line "post your items for sale" swap shop. A recently-added feature allows coaches to access a password-protected database to record their game results, to be viewed by all web-visitors.
Static web sites with basic HTML
- Stoney Creek School of Art (existing site, redesigned)

A highly successful art school with over 900 students annually deserves a good web site. The old web site for this business was in need of a make-over. Working closely with the school's Director, Five Ace Designs.com created a playful design featuring a navigation menu with a ribbon-based theme and bright colours. Even though every page features a different colour, the overall design theme of the site remains consistent and clear.
- Lincoln Leapers

The Lincoln Leapers is a non-profit association, based out of Beamsville, Ontario and represents the Niagara Region for competitions and performances. The Board of Directors for Lincoln Leapers discussed having a Web Site many times before deciding to contact Five Ace Designs for a low-cost, attractive and professionally designed site.
- nanoQuest Inc. (existing site, redesigned)

nanoQuest is a highly successful small consulting company primarily focused on ISO training, certification, and compliance. They came to Five Ace Designs.com to rework their in-house-made web site. This site features a complimentary colour scheme and a drop-down Flash-animated navigation menu.
- John L. Wolfe, LL.B.

Recognizing the need to be visible to the growing market of "under 30 year olds" whose primary method of gathering information is via computer and the Internet, the law office of John L. Wolfe, LL.B. decided to build themselves a web site on a template-driven, do-it-yourself hosting site. After struggling with the difficult do-it-yourself interface that the host provided, they turned to Five Ace Designs.com to build a professional looking, conservative-but-modern web site. By using Five Ace's graphics experience and expertise, and web standards-compliant approach to design, the law firm got the web site they wanted in the timeframe they needed.
- Philip Doyle Manufacturing Ltd. (existing site, redesigned)

-

Working closely with one key employee for many weeks, and after many rounds of changes and tweaks and edits, the revised site went live in April 2007.
- Pointe-Claire Steel

-

This simple and elegant site is prepared in both official Canadian languages, for this steel service-centre business operating in Québec and Ontario, Canada. This company also required an Intranet server and site set up for easy access by all its employees to important controlled documents within the organization. Five Ace Designs.com was up to the task of getting both requirements met on a timely basis. This web site was updated in 2007 and uses cascading style sheets to display the language of choice, either English or French.

-

- Laurie Guild Photgraphy

- Completely redesigned in 2008, Laurie Guild Photography is a fresh looking display of the types of photographic work Laurie Guild has been creating for years. This site uses two different types of Flash animation to display the photos in a minimal amount screen space, while still allowing a good look at the photos, larger than a typical thumnail image.
- Chimney Top Masonry

- This web site incorporated as much imagery as possible of the company's own brick, block, and glass work. Photographs tell the story of the work that Chimney Top Masonry has done, and can do. This web site is small and static, but does show how well-thought layout, colour and design works well.
- K.E.W. Steel Fabricators Limited

This web site is currently nothing more than a "here-we-are" home page. It is, however, more clean, attractive, and easy to read than their old home page, designed in-house.

Extinct Sites
- Millar's RV

- Millar's RV offers motor coach services tailored to the needs of a bridal party. Designed to resemble a wedding album, this is a simple, four-page site with linear navigation (forward and backward only), similar to paging through a book. The graphics in this site were custom designed from scratch to give the appearance of being a metal-ring binder with parchment pages, and corner-tabs to hold the pictures in place. Web site closed in 2006.
- Jacob Beam School: 50th Anniversary Celebration

-
